About this site
From Jameson Irvine – site co-founder:
Years ago, as I started my web business journey, I found outsourcing very helpful. After all, I still had a full time job, a family to feed, and a life. I didn’t have time to do everything, so outsourcing was the main thing. It was cheap and helpful.
Over the years, I’ve noticed something. I noticed that Filipinos were the best non-native-English writers. Really, they are. I’ve hired a lot of them that writes compelling stuff, really they did. I enjoyed their articles so much that I started this side project, along with Filipino co-founders.
The aim of this site, is to grow it big enough to use it as a portfolio for Filipino writers.
The thing with outsourcing is, I’ve noticed so many Filipino writers were underpaid. They just can’t find great clients to work for. When this site grows, we will create a sort of a job-boards, advertise internationally, and get people to hire writers here.
The idea is to get people in need of writers to browse through this site, and if they see an author they like, they hire them.
We will not gain anything from these so called, job boards. We just want great Filipino writers to get good paying writing jobs. All of them.
I apologize in advance for the starting cash prizes, as this is a new site, we are treading in new waters, we do not know where this is going yet. This is somewhat of a starting project, we are all still busy with our main businesses. Most of the resources are spent on advertising. After all, if people doesn’t know this exist, then people won’t write. Right?
As of December 2011 — this site’s current funding is $500 per month. Divided among cash prizes, facebook ads, hosting and editors’ income.
But if this site gets steady growth, we promise, we will dedicate more of our time, effort and resources out here. We will hire more staffs, editors and turbo charge the promotions and advertising.
If we get awesome writers hired for great paying online jobs, then I consider this project a success. This is more of a “give back” to the tremendous outsourcing resources I’ve used so far. It really helped me a lot. My current web businesses won’t have gone anywhere had there been no outsourcing, and I really thank (most of them) Filipinos for it.
