The Different Gods
|March 19, 2012||Posted by Denise under Religion|
“When Christians, Jews, Buddhists, and others pray to their Gods, all of those individuals are actually praying to the same God, but simply using different names for that deity.”
There’s a group of different people that want to climb a mountain. They start off at different locations — with the same goal — to reach the top.
Some took longer paths than others. Some took rockier paths, some smoother, some grassier, some took woodier paths.
But one thing is perfectly clear. All of them are journeying to one direction — upwards.
They have one goal — to reach the top of the mountain.
“Different people climbing the same mountain,” is a common example that defines the vast religions in our world today.
Different religions are just different paths to the same God. All religions point to the same path of love and righteousness.
The Muslim next door calls Him, Allah. You call him Jesus. The Hindus call him Brahman. But ultimately, as long as one’s sincere to one’s spirituality, no one can say that anybody is wrong.
All of them are correct.
But there’s one HUGE problem. As usual, man took it to a different level.
1. All religions contradict each other.
Christianity believes Jesus is the son of God and they are both one and the same. But other religions like Islam and Judaism, dictates that if you believe God turned into a man or there is some other variations of God besides “the one true God,” then you will go to hell.
So how can that be? They contradict each other, it’s so confusing.
2. Religions have different variations of God.
Christianity believes Jesus is God and God is a trinity. Hinduism have thousands of Gods and Buddhism technically don’t have a God.
Judaism and Islam states there is only ONE GOD and any variations of it will lead you to hell.
3. All religions claim they are higher than the rest.
Each religion claims to be the only way.
Christianity claims that Jesus is the only way to God or heaven. “I am the way, the truth, and the life and no one can come to the father but through me.” –John 14:6.
Jesus claims he is the only way to God and nothing else.
Judaism claim that there is only one true God. All other variations of the same or different God are idols. And you will go to hell for believing that.
Muslims claim that the only way to God is Islam. And nothing else.
So which is which? So confusing.
4. Religions have different goals.
Buddhism wants to reach Nirvana. Hinduism wants to end all cycles of reincarnation. Christianity wants to reach heaven through Jesus Christ. Islam and Judaism want a straight path to heaven through God alone and nothing (or no one) else.
5. Religions can’t co-exist with each other (no matter how much they try to)
If Jesus is the only way, then all other religions are false. If the goal is only Nirvana or end the cycles of reincarnation, then other religions are false.
If Islam or Judaism preach that the only way to salvation is a “direct” path to God, then all others are false.
So what do you think? I’m confused. I need answers. I want to hear your thoughts on this.
