To Eat or Not To Eat? How many meals a day should you eat?

When you are on a diet, you need to know how many calories you need as per your body weight to effectively integrate it in your diet.

 

 

It is said that 3-5 meals a day is advisable, but there are some, that states eating 6 meals per day is good as well. Here are some things that you need to know, when trying to decide how many meals one needs, to eat for a more effective diet.

 

Six times meal a day is excessive, three meals is ideal

The required serving is 3 and not 6, that’s what most of them say. But the idea is the more often you visit the kitchen, the increase the temptation is on your part. Eating 3 x meals per day is ideal but not necessary. What’s more important is that you control the portion you eat and that will surely keep you on track.

So I’d say, 4-5 controlled meals a day is good.

 

Eating more calories, not more meals, will contribute to weight gain.

The idea really is that you need to eat at least 1000-1200 calories daily and not more. Either you eat 3-6 times depends on how much calories these meals are.

This is why counting calories is important and it is also best that you learn what are the foods that has less calories, or what are the meals you can prepare, that will total your daily dose of calorie intake. There is no proven fact that the number of meal or the frequency you take a meal results to losing or gaining weight. It will all boil down to having a good metabolism.

 

Either you eat 3-6 or smaller portion of meals per day, decide on what will make you stick to your diet.

That is the most important thing to remember. If a practice will make you feeling hungrier at the end of the day, change it. Experiment and determine what works best for you.
